Fareham Borough Council has been adopting system thinking principles into the way it works and this has had a big effect on how we deliver our financial services. We therefore see our qualified accountants as valued partners working alongside services to help deliver what matters to their customers. Is this an approach you think you'd enjoy? Do you think you have what it takes to join us? About You We are looking for somebody who not only has the required technical accounting, IT and analytical skills but who also has a desire to be part of the decision-making process by building effective working relationships and using their financial acumen to provide effective support, advice and challenge. Ideally, you will be CCAB (or equivalent) qualified (or working towards final qualification), although consideration will be given to applicants who are part CCAB qualified and/or are willing to study for a CCAB Qualification. You will also have experience of budget setting, budget monitoring and forecasting with some knowledge of the structure of local government accounts. Experience in Project Delivery would be an advantage but it is not essential. About Us We take pride in receiving feedback from others who say we are a friendly and professional organisation. By working for us you will become part of the team and will play your part in serving our community. You would be joining one of the most forward-looking borough councils in the Southeast, a happy team and a well-managed Council. We offer a great pension scheme, authorised parking, tech schemes and a car lease scheme to name a few of the benefits of working for us. We encourage our employees to make a valuable contribution to the work of the Council by having a trusting and open culture, where ideas are actively sought. We also recognise the value of a highly motivated and engaged workforce. We are committed to ensuring our services are delivered to the highest possible standard and we put the customer at the forefront of everything we do.
