London Lightworks specialise in expert lighting design & consultancy, along with cutting edge lighting controls and shading solutions. Our focus is to manage light comprehensively to create innovative and practical lighting solutions that excel in both design and functionality. We work across the globe on projects in varying sectors ranging from high end residential, hotels, bars & restaurants, offices, galleries & retail. The role is for a full time position as a creative junior project lighting designer to join our newly renovated office located in Watford. On site we also have a lighting experience centre where you can demonstrate and learn about lighting to better focus your skills as well as entertain guests. The designer will be responsible for designing and implementing lighting solutions, incorporating architectural and interior design elements to enhance spaces using the tool of light. Within the role your skills and experience will grow, working in a creative environment where you can express your ideas and develop them through to realised projects. A successful applicant would have a keen eye for design as well as an understanding/interest of products a their construction. A passion for design is key. You will have demonstrable creative and technical experience or have completed higher education studies related to Lighting Design, with the ability to offer innovative ideas and design solutions, positively contributing to projects. Your responsibilities would include: Designing lighting layouts in AutoCAD, at first along side one of our lead designers with the aim to progress to creating your own schemes. Develop lighting specifications and control schedules. Create inspirational presentations for lighting reports including design approach, aspirational images, renders and sketches Assisting other members of the team with project tasks readying items for site delivery. Liaising with other members of the professional team both in person and virtually. Presenting lighting concept and developed design schemes Attending site and team meetings to ensure the smooth running of projects. Liaising with manufacturers to understand products and installation methods. Carry out commissioning of lighting schemes post installation with Programming engineers, interiors designers and clients. To be fully aware of the latest insights, trends and creative influences in design.
