Publishing Administrator Join our client and help promote excellence in the veterinary profession. The role: Our client, based near Gloucester, has a fantastic opportunity for a Digital Publishing Administrator to join its publications team to work on its internationally renowned series of veterinary publications. The Digital Publishing Administrator will take on a variety of administrative tasks relating to their online Library and ebooks, including working on digital versions of their content and supporting end users. This role represents an ideal first step for someone interested in the technical, digital and sales aspects of publishing. Skills and Experience: The successful candidate will ideally be of graduate calibre or equivalent. Knowledge of, or an interest in, the veterinary field will be useful but is not essential. Previous publishing experience would be an advantage but is not essential. Experience of editing HTML and/or XML, together with an awareness of the digital publishing environment would also be advantageous. The Person: The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team environment and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and a logical approach are vital attributes when working with technical content. The successful applicant should also be able to multi-task and prioritise their workload. They should also display a willingness to learn about scientific publishing and be confident in adapting to new technologies. With a membership of more than 10,000 veterinary surgeons, vet nurses and students, they work in the UK and internationally to promote excellence in small animal practice through education and science, by facilitating training, conducting research and developing policy. Each year they deliver numerous education courses, host the largest small animal Congress in Europe, and publish books, manuals, apps and magazines. This post sits within the Publications department and reports to the Head of Publishing. Benefits: This is a permanent, full-time role of 37.5 hours per week, offering a salary between £19,000 – £21,000 per annum, depending on qualification and/or experience.
