Commercial Contracts Manager – York Excellent opportunity to work in the Rail sector, managing various commercial contracts on behalf of the client. Location: - York Day rate:- £50,000 - £55,000 basic Package Role Description As a Commercial Contracts Manager, you will be integral to managing post-contract commercial activities and supporting pre-contract efforts in the supply chain. Using your commercial expertise to ensure cost efficiency and adherence to governance standards. A strong grasp of governance and assurance controls for managing public money is essential, as is being a trusted expert in both pre and post-commercial management. This would be a great opportunity for someone in the public sector looking to make a sideways step into the Rail sector. Utilising your knowledge and understanding of Cost Forecasting and Anticipated Final Cost on projects and frameworks. Ensuring value for money is achieved by monitoring and creating reports on the commercial aspects of projects, and proposing mitigation actions for any issues. Key responsibilities will vary depending on the project / framework and where it is from a deliver aspect, be it mobilising or final accounts, but could include: Supporting the programme and project teams in monitoring compliance with against the governance. Influence decision-making from a commercial perspective and review contractor delivery. Manage the assessment and valuation of contractor applications and payment certifications. Provide advice on change management and produce documentation for approval. Produce payment applications/invoices and manage commercial risk and claims. Provide management information and analysis for informed decision-making. Ensure proper retention and archiving of commercial records and undertake final account settlements. This role is a hybrid role working 2-3 days a week in York and 2-3 days from home, with flexible working around meetings and financial deadlines. Qualifications / Experience HNC / HND / Degree in Commercial / Quantity Surveying or related subject. Experience as a Commercial Manager or Commercial Contracts Manager with in a clientside organisation. Previous experience of administering a project or framework commercial contract.
