Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company (CMBC) is one of the leading, historic brewers in the UK. Formed out of a joint venture between Carlsberg UK and Marston’s PLC, we combine over 300 years of shared values, history, and heritage in UK brewing.
We are now recruiting for a Day Operations Manager to join us. Reporting to the Head of Department, this role will be responsible for providing leadership, driving performance excellence and a culture of engagement. We are looking for someone who can champion change in all aspects, building and executing strategic plans within the business that enable the brewery to become a leader in best practice for Carlsberg Group.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Provide leadership and drive performance excellence building a culture of engagement and continuous improvement through lean in order to develop world class people and processes.
2. Set clear development strategies for the team, ensuring key targets and objectives will be achieved relating to quality service people and cost, driven through effective deployment of the performance management system.
3. Take lead in delivering improvements around Good Manufacturing Practice and embedding working practices that will deliver sustainable results.
4. Develop a behavioural safety culture and promote a safe working environment by ensuring full compliance with all SH&E Policy and process.
5. Effectively communicates strategic plans, regular business performance updates and local KPI performance to teams and department manager.
6. Drive 100% compliance of autonomous/preventative maintenance through Engineering and operation teams.
Experience and Key Attributes:
1. Qualified to degree level or of graduate calibre with demonstrable experience within a food manufacturing / FMCG company.
2. Significant operational manufacturing experience & knowledge (products, processes, maintenance) within an FMCG context.
3. Proven knowledge and experience of using Lean tools and techniques to deliver sustained improvements.
4. Knowledge of key standards in Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental.
5. Capable and experienced people leader, standard setting, influencing, motivating, coaching and developing skills.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to network positively with staff from all levels and departments.
7. Current or eligibility to gain full working rights in the UK.
