Job overview
North Manchester CAMHS are looking for passionate, skilled, and ambitious CAMHS practitioners who have extensive clinical experience and are qualified as, or in the process of qualifying as a Non Medical Prescriber. The service provides specialist neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people as well as treatment and support via our medication pathway.
As an NMP and neurodevelopmental practitioner, you will need to be experienced working with children and young people who have a diagnosis or are being assessed for neurodevelopmental conditions. You will contribute to the post-diagnostic support needed and offer signposting, consultation, and training as appropriate.
The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary CAMHS Team in North Manchester and work alongside a wide range of colleagues from nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and psychology. They will be joining a warm, dynamic, and hardworking team that looks after each other and has a range of excellent skills, knowledge, and experience to share with you.
Dependent upon experience and interests, the post holder will be supported to develop a job plan that will allow for the development of prescribing skills alongside ADHD assessments, formulation building, and therapeutic interventions. We offer excellent training opportunities and regular supervision.
Main duties of the job
1. You will offer prescribing clinics, involving initiation and titration dependent upon qualifications and experience alongside colleagues in the multidisciplinary team.
2. You will be responsible for delivering evidence-based medication interventions in line with national guidance and care pathways.
3. You will offer assessment for complex mental health needs and levels of risk, including safeguarding and self-harm.
4. You will manage your own caseload, providing a range of high-quality care appropriate to the child or young person's needs, which will include mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation, and interventions.
5. You must be confident and experienced in communication, due to the high level of liaison needed between CAMHS and other services and be willing to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the young people.
6. You will provide intervention for children, young people, and their families.
7. You will offer consultation for schools and partner agencies.
