About the Role

An excellent opportunity has opened within our Operations department for an Investigations Officer to join us and be based out of our operation in the London Gateway.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, resilient problem solver with exceptional communication skills and a strong background in conducting investigations. This role involves collating, sourcing and reviewing evidence from various resources, including CCTV, training records, audio evidence, interviews and contextual information.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
How you will contribute:
* Collate, source and review evidence from all available resources.
* Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with GDPR.
* Oversee and manage investigation case management, driving best practices.
* Conduct face-to-face and/or remote interviews with witnesses, capturing accurate statements and interview notes.
* Integrate findings to draw well-founded conclusions and provide actionable recommendations.
* Liaise and collaborate with key stakeholders to gather crucial information.
* Maintain oversight and accountability of investigation case management.
* Create and submit investigation packs and reports within set timescales.
* Identify and monitor the implementation of corrective actions to enhance controls and processes.
* Proactively identify trends and themes to assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies.
* Regularly interact with employees and key stakeholders to provide updates on investigation progress.
* Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by leading and engaging with Health, Safety, Environment, and Security Policies and Procedures.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather information for investigations.
* Maintain detailed records to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
What you will bring:
* Experience in handling complex investigations.
* Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
* Strong understanding of Safe Working Instructions and Risk Assessments.
* In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety practices and principles.
* Proficient in using various systems and IT tools.
* Awareness and understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements.
* Effective at communicating and building relationships at all business levels.
* Capable of working with resilience and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Ability to operate effectively in a safety-critical environment.
* Experience in conducting internal investigations within the Port, Logistics, or similar industries. (Desirable)
Qualifications:
* IOSH Managing Safely (advantageous)
* NEBOSH (advantageous)
* Employment legislation knowledge (advantageous)
* GDPR training

* A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads.

* Due to manufacturing guidelines on equipment and site safety critical health and safety requirements, we have strict weight and medical requirements that need to be met and maintained. For our safety critical roles health and medical and fitness checks are performed. Requirements include, but are not limited to, weight, height, blood pressure and hearing.
* We may close our roles early, depending on the number of applications received.
