Stepping Stones is a year-round nursery, registered to take care of children from 3 months to 5 years old. We are situated in the grounds of the Regis School campus and provide a safe and stimulating environment for babies and pre-school children. We have seven rooms for our different age groups, two sensory rooms and are also privileged to have three large outdoor areas where we encourage free-flow play so children can explore and learn in the environment they feel happiest in. We understand that the first five years of a child’s life are the most important for development, and we pride ourselves on delivering a unique and varied curriculum full of stimulating activities to engage children throughout their time with us. Our team is welcoming and friendly, and we are all passionate about our commitment to shape little minds, enabling our children to reach their full potential. Stepping Stones Nursery is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education to children and young people across England. United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check. We always appoint on merit, and we are open to discussing flexible working options.
An exciting opportunity! Are you the one to take it?
We are looking to recruit an excellent Nursery leader with a strong track record in raising standards, community working, and developing relationships. This is an exciting and highly rewarding role as it provides a real opportunity to make a difference and improve the life chances of our youngest children and families.
Are you someone who is an enthusiastic, warm, and committed leader who models the highest expectations for children and our community? Stepping Stones Nursery is a delightful and engaging nursery; this is thanks to a strong team of staff who expect the best, have excellent relationships, and a strong commitment to giving children the best start in life. You will continue to develop these teams and relationships to further build a Nursery in which children succeed in all aspects of their early development. Working with a variety of leaders across the campus will be a key priority.
The Nursery is situated on a vibrant campus that includes Southway Primary School (3 – 11 years), The Regis School (11-18 Secondary School), The Arena Sports Centre, and The Phoenix Centre (Community and Youth Centre) – all under the umbrella of The United Learning Trust. It is crucial that the successful candidate works collaboratively with leaders from these different settings to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for all our young people.
As a leader within United Learning, you will be joining a team of highly skilled colleagues from over 100 independent and state schools who work collaboratively and share a vision of bringing out the best from everyone. You will have strong practical support from all the main ‘back office’ services and from a central education team. Your career and development will benefit from the wide range of opportunities and the professional development support that a larger organisation can offer.
We are keen to receive applications from a diverse range of candidates, including black and minority ethnic leaders who are currently under-represented at leadership level. Whoever you are, if you have a strong track record of enhancing early childhood education and a passion for nurturing young minds, we would love to hear from you.
The nursery will be closed over the Christmas period from 6pm, 23rd December until 7.30am, Thursday 2nd Jan. To arrange a visit to the nursery and the campus please email: diane.willson@southwayprimary.co.uk or call 07889 461651.
The closing date for applications is 8.30am on Monday 6th January 2025.
