Job Description:
To provide kitchen support through completion of cleaning tasks as well as organising stock and general maintenance of kitchen hygiene.
Principal Duties:
1. Keep all cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils washed and clean.
2. Assist the Chef in making sure the kitchen is clean and always sanitised.
3. Sweep and mop the floors.
4. Assist the team in putting receiving goods away, rotating stock, disposing of out-of-date items, documenting product temperatures where appropriate e.g., on delivery of chilled or frozen items.
5. Make sure cleaning schedules, procedures and forms are filled out.
6. Make sure the pot wash is cleaned regularly.
7. Make sure dirty aprons, towels etc. are taken to the laundry room to be washed daily.
8. Take out the garbage/recycling from the kitchen.
9. Make sure all sinks and blue roll dispensers are fully stocked.
10. Follow cleaning rota and ensure all tasks are completed.
Clothing:
1. Appropriate personal protective equipment to be worn at all times within the kitchen.
2. Uniforms, shoes and hats to be provided by Schoen Clinic Newbridge.
3. Uniforms, aprons, and garments should be clean at the beginning of each shift and changed regularly when necessary.
4. Uniforms or aprons should not be worn outside Schoen Clinic Newbridge.
Professional:
1. Be responsible for ensuring that confidentiality is always maintained in accordance with the Data Protection Act, The Children Act, Child Protection Legislation and Schoen Clinic Newbridge Policy.
2. Operate within own level of professional competency.
3. Maintain professional boundaries with colleagues and patients at all times.
4. Ensure appropriate systems of communication.
Educational:
1. Participate in Schoen Clinic Newbridge appraisal process, identifying with the appraiser mandatory and professional training needs.
2. Attend all mandatory and associated professional training.
3. Be responsible for own professional development and ensure Continued Personal Development log is maintained.
4. Training can be provided on request in relation to the use of IT equipment/programmes.
Organisational:
1. Be familiar with, and follow Health and Safety policy and procedures and be aware of individual responsibilities under legislation, bringing potential risk to the attention of Line manager.
2. Be responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with all relevant Schoen Clinic Newbridge and statutory policies and procedures.
3. Manage workload and time effectively using the procedures provided.
Communication:
1. Communicate with patients in line with Schoen Clinic Newbridge guidelines on confidentiality.
2. Information provided to the patients in relation to the meal plan to be limited. Ingredients, portion size, dietary dislikes, diet changes or cooking methods should not be discussed with the young people.
