We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Controller / Finance Assistant to join our finance team. Job Summary: As a Junior Credit Controller / Finance Assistant, you will support the credit control function by assisting with the management of customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the finance team with various administrative tasks. You will gain valuable experience in both credit control and general finance operations. Key Responsibilities: Assist in managing customer accounts and ensuring timely payments. Help with monitoring and chasing overdue accounts via phone, email, or letter. Assist in reconciling customer accounts and resolving minor discrepancies. Support the production of aged debt reports and assist with month-end tasks. Prepare and process credit notes, refunds, and adjustments as necessary. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of communications and transactions. Assist with general finance and administrative tasks, such as filing and data entry. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and customer service, to resolve issues. Contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance department by assisting with ad-hoc tasks. Qualifications: Some experience in credit control, accounts, or finance is desirable but not essential. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional approach. Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks. Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word), with an eagerness to learn finance software. A keen interest in finance and credit control. An AAT or other finance-related qualification (or working towards it) would be advantageous but not essential.
