About the Role
Are you a passionate Primary Teacher dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs? We're looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Primary Teacher to join our vibrant, highly rated SEN school in East London, which has received an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. You'll work with children aged 5 to 11 who have complex needs, primarily Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Around 30% of our students also have autism, and all students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) specifically for SEMH.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Teaching: Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons to small groups of mixed-age students (up to 10), focusing on SEMH needs.
Student Support: Collaborate closely with a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide personalised academic and emotional support.
Behaviour Management: Implement a range of positive behaviour strategies, with an emphasis on de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
Assessment & Reporting: Regularly assess and report on students' progress, setting individual goals and providing updates to parents and relevant professionals.
Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with the school's multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic support for students' social, emotional, and educational needs.
Safeguarding: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, promoting the welfare of all students.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training to deepen skills in SEN teaching, particularly in areas such as Non-Violent Communication and trauma-sensitive practices.
Reflection & Training Time: Every Friday afternoon is allocated to training, team reflection, and development, with student contact ending at 12 pm.About You
We're looking for an educator who:
Has experience in teaching children with SEMH or SEN and is dedicated to helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Demonstrates patience, resilience, and empathy, understanding the challenges faced by children with behavioural and emotional difficulties.
Uses adaptable teaching methods to engage a range of learning styles and build students' confidence.
Possesses strong classroom management skills, with a focus on positive behaviour strategies.
Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent, with SEN teaching experience preferred but not essential.
Is committed to professional growth and open to training in PRICE, Transactional Analysis, Social Pedagogy, and other specialised areas.Additional Benefits
