An exciting opportunity to join the team that supports the branch IT systems within the Cash & Carry estate has arisen. The branch systems team are responsible for the in-house system (MIDAS) applications which includes, but is not limited to, POS (tills), Customer Self Scan, Picking Devices and Chip and Pin Terminals across the Booker and Makro estate. This team works closely with the Development and Operation teams to ensure that the systems are effective, secure and efficient.
The IS Analyst for branch systems works within in the IS team of Booker and will be part of an existing test team for finding and reporting software related bugs within the MIDAS applications. While a technical background is desired, it is not crucial. An understanding of how retail/wholesale systems work would be helpful to ensure success in this role.
* Work with multi-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
* Review and analyse system specifications to develop effective test cases.
* Implement test cases and analyse results.
* Evaluate system functionality based from specifications.
* Report bugs and errors found during the testing process to development teams.
* Have a sense of urgency enabling you to prioritise and raise to other colleagues and senior leaders should situations occur that require further focus or specialism.
* You will also focus on analysing how the systems and processes work, as well as adhering to rigorous testing procedures.
