The role
We are looking for a self-motivated Senior Designer who can deliver incredible creativity to our clients in the gaming industry. You will have a passion for creating beautiful work that goes beyond client expectations.
The successful candidate will be a very talented creative all-rounder - responsible for working with our clients on the design of websites, branding and creation of social media assets. To do this you will need to have strong typography, illustration and Photoshop compositing skills, and a good knowledge of Figma and front end web design. Management or team leadership experience are desirable for this role too.
Due to the nature of the work, you will need to be skilled in designing content for web and digital, and be able to demonstrate your creative expertise to the business. Our work can be to tight deadlines and therefore outstanding attention to detail, a methodical approach to prioritising your workload, and excellent time management skills are essential to succeed in this role.
Project N is a small business and great communication skills are crucial. We are looking for someone who has a deep understanding of our client base in the gaming industry, is personable, highly collaborative, confident in sharing their ideas, and crucially is welcoming of feedback. It is a highly collaborative environment, presenting a variety of opportunities to work with talented colleagues, such as assisting our video and web teams, working with our sales team on decks and pitches, and liaising with clients.
You will be responsible for:
* Working across a range of briefs for our clients in the gaming industry and delivering content to agreed deadlines
* Bringing concept ideas into high-quality content material in line with client briefs
* Based on the client brief, you will source, create and research assets relevant to the work
* Utilising Adobe Creative Cloud software to determine the ideal usage of colour, text, typography, imagery and layout
* Producing online assets for the web and social media campaigns
* Working on presentations for pitches using Google Workspace
* Creating lovely web designs from high-fidelity mock-ups
* Building beautiful client brand assets (logos/badges/lockups/style guides) from scratch
* Illustrating storyboards for video
* Creating clear and concise freelancer briefs
* Managing the quality and standard of work of freelancers
* Keeping within allocated budgets, to include a freelance budget to assist in peak periods
* Managing the design and uploading process for all project materials using our naming convention on Google Drive
* Collaborating with developers to implement web designs efficiently
You will have/be/be able to:
* Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
* Proven experience as a designer with a strong portfolio showcasing web and print design work
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & XD) and Figma
* Strong understanding of web design principles, UX, and responsive design
* Experience in managing freelancers to deliver an excellent standard of work on time and on budget, including accurate briefing and feedback
* Knowledge of print production processes and best practices
* Excellent communication skills, you are able to listen to what is needed, transpose and articulate a vision back to client, sales teams or freelancers to get the best outcome for the client
* Professional, client-focussed manner, you put the client at the heart of what you do; being able to take feedback about your work constructively and professionally from internal and external stakeholders is a must.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
* Must be able to produce proof of right to work in the UK by the start of employment
You will ideally have:
Prior experience of people management (we can develop this though).
