The starting salary for this role is currently: £65,690 (development) - £72,045 (competent) per annum. A 5% allowance is payable in addition.
We are looking for an outstanding strategic manager. Applications are welcomed from both uniformed grey book competent group managers and above or from individuals with relevant experience from other sectors. The role is non-operational and there will be no operational rota requirements for grey book applicants.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are looking to recruit an Area Manager who will form part of our Strategic Leadership Team (SLT). This role will play a key part in ensuring the delivery of statutory functions, whilst working with other members of SLT to establish the strategic direction and work towards the goals of the Service.
As an experienced senior manager with a proven leadership record, you will already have extensive experience of leading others to deliver strategic plans, and monitoring and evaluating performance to ensure the effectiveness of service delivery through multi-disciplinary teams.
You will need to be comfortable in driving and managing change and display a high level of inter-personal skills and an inclusive leadership style which encourages engagement. As a proven team player, you will be adept at building effective relationships and have the ability to motivate and lead others. You will be an ambassador for professional standards demonstrating personal integrity and values in your approach to everything you do.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree level qualification and a level 5 qualification in leadership and management or demonstrate a willingness to work towards. You will have the confidence, ability and desire to design and implement strategy and the personal qualities that will inspire others to deliver high quality services.
The role is based at Joint Headquarters Sherwood Lodge reporting to an Assistant Chief Fire Officer.
