Curriculum Manager – Engineering (Apprenticeships)

This person would be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of the Apprentice and Skills curriculum, at our state of the art Technology hub in Aston. This role involves managing a range of both practical and theoretical disciplines to help ensure that the learners are fully prepared for employment. It provides an opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s leading tutors and to broaden your managerial skills within a diverse setting.
Responsibilities
* Working collaboratively with the Technical Manager, Apprentice and Progress Manager to deliver a top-tier learning provision.
* Ensure that the teaching practices being used are modern and relevant to the current and future engineering needs and making changes where necessary.
* Organise and manage a team of tutors, including managing their workload, course cover, discipline, welfare, and more.
* Develop a timetable for a variety of qualifications and courses ranging from Level 2 skills to HNC and HND, including remote delivery models.
* Ensure that learning is well-planned and that tutors have the necessary material that meets the criteria of apprenticeship standards.
* Provide detailed, timely feedback to learners to help them improve.
* Collaborate with quality assurance personnel to maintain effective feedback loops.
* Ensure that teaching and learning meet the standards set by OFSTED, LSC, Awarding Bodies, and the centre’s criteria.
* Ensure that outcomes for the most vulnerable learners meet or exceed average outcomes.
* Work closely with the Apprentice and Progress Manager to implement learning interventions as a way of recovering lost progress.
* Maintain learner discipline in line with the Centre’s codes and ensure that health and safety guidelines are met and necessary compliance is in place.
Requirements
* Time Served apprentice (desirable)
* Experience in engineering disciplines.
* Managerial experience within education.
* Teacher qualified (minimum level 4) or willingness to attain.
* Recent industrial experience and knowledge of current industry best practices is desirable.
* At least HND qualified.
* Experience of apprenticeships.
