Our client, a leading aerospace company, is currently seeking a skilled Fitter to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a day shift role.
The ideal candidate for this role will have completed a recognised apprenticeship or have equivalent experience within the skill group. Significant experience as a mechanical fitter or production aircraft fitter, with a focus on fault finding related to production acceptance testing, would be highly beneficial. Knowledge and experience in fuel systems, mechanics, and structures would also be advantageous. A wide skill base within an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) base would be useful.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Task Management:
Build and perform Production Acceptance Testing (PAT) of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) according to engineering methods and processes.
Support and comply with quality procedures to maintain compliance by following defined processes and procedures.
2. Autonomy:
Identify and drive productivity and performance improvement opportunities in collaboration with the team to support cost reductions.
Understand lean manufacturing processes and work with the team to implement them.
Contribute to the continuous development of safety, health, and environmental requirements within the work area.
3. People Management:
Actively support and pursue personal development to ensure task flexibility through the use of the Skills matrix.
Participate in annual and interim Performance and Development Reviews with the Production Supervisor.
4. Communication:
Escalate issues to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner.
