Job Opportunity: Operations Engineer Location: Stretford, Trafford Park (Hybrid Working) Salary: £45,000 per annum We are looking for an Operations Engineer to join our client’s operations team. This role involves supporting data capture systems used for customer projects, as well as maintaining internal IT infrastructure. These systems utilize a mix of off-the-shelf tools and custom applications to provide insights into online consumer behavior. The company also maintains a predominantly SaaS-based internal IT environment, with a limited number of traditional servers and applications. Key Responsibilities: Day-to-day maintenance of servers and services. Handling support requests from customers and internal staff. Deployment and scaling of systems. Collaborating with engineering, testing, and user experience teams. Responding to alarms and alerts, improving monitoring and system performance. Investigating system performance issues and ensuring stability. Adhering to company policies related to security, quality, and health & safety. About You: We’re looking for a proactive problem-solver with a passion for infrastructure and automation. Must-Have Skills: Strong experience with Linux (CentOS/Alma preferred). Ability to troubleshoot issues and find solutions independently. Following established processes and documentation. Good communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills & Experience: Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages. Experience running servers at scale. Familiarity with VPS and dedicated server hosting providers. Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Puppet, Terraform). Administrative knowledge of business tools (Atlassian, Microsoft 365, etc.). Experience with monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, PagerDuty. Windows desktop management and InTune MDM experience. What’s in It for You?
