Bookkeeper
Hours: Full and Part Time (25 – 40 per week)
Salary: £25,000.00 - £30,000.00 per year
Duties:
* Manage client VAT returns with a strong working knowledge of VAT.
* Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
* Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for multiple clients for management review.
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
* Provide support to junior bookkeeping staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role within a practice environment.
* Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
* AAT qualified or studying towards a qualification.
* Experience in a similar role within a financial services firm.
* Knowledge of Xero, Sage, and/or QuickBooks accounting software.
