Job Purpose & Scope:
Reporting to the European Head of Finance, this person will be responsible for:
1. Management of E-commerce platforms to ensure accuracy of reporting and transactional reconciliations of ingoing and outgoing payments.
2. Support Senior Management Accountant with VAT reporting for various EU countries as a result of sales on E-commerce platforms.
3. Support Business Controller on data analysis and systems.
Key Accountabilities:
1. G/L, receivable and Payable Ledger control.
2. Cash and Bank reconciliations.
3. Order & Payment file uploads to ERP system for Amazon business and reviewing posted transactions.
4. Validation of Sales and Cost recognition across E-commerce platforms.
5. Checking VAT settings based on tax files provided by Amazon.
6. Ad-hoc queries and investigation of transactions and costs generated by E-commerce business.
7. General ledger reconciliation to feed into month end processes at a consolidated EMEA level.
8. VAT reporting including OSS reporting for E-commerce business across multiple EU countries.
9. Involvement in projects to improve reporting and automation of E-commerce business.
10. Supporting EMEA Business controller with data and reporting, using tools such as Power BI.
11. Assist Head of Finance with E-commerce business analysis of Sales & Costs, as a basis for the presentation of the P&L to Senior Management.
12. Any other ad-hoc requirements related to ongoing management of E-commerce platforms.
Necessary Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
1. Ideally working towards a relevant accredited qualification such as ACCA/CIMA or AAT.
2. Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience with all-round accounting from an accounting department or accountant.
3. Experience in Credit control or accounts departments in AP or AR would be an advantage.
4. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Business Central would be an advantage.
5. Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
6. Experience with EU VAT & Tax rules would be an advantage.
7. Methodical and organised.
8. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
9. Team player, who is able to work on own initiative and providing results under tight deadlines.
10. Accountable for the work you produce.
11. Works well under pressure and strict deadlines.
