Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw are a local charity dedicated to providing the best standard of care to adults and children with life-limiting illness, along with their families, friends and carers.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic, organised individual, who wishes to use their excellent communication and relationship management skills to engage and support the wonderful community who challenge themselves each year to provide care, with compassion to local families who need it.
This role will grow over time as the Hospice does, giving you the opportunity to cultivate exciting, new and engaging events whilst building on a strong foundation of fundraising and donor stewardship. Though your main priority will be the successful management of events from small to mass participation, you will be expected to work across all areas of the fundraising team, understanding that someone who takes part in a challenge event, may also be a corporate supporter, or giving in memory of their loved one.
You will offer vital day-to-day support as part of the fundraising team, working with the Head of Income Generation and wider Marketing and Income Generation team towards the shared goals of excellent communication, data management, and engagement with the local community.
We are seeking a creative, engaging, and committed fundraising professional who will:
1. Create, develop, manage, and evaluate key fundraising events throughout the year ensuring all H&S compliance.
2. Build effective relationships with community fundraisers and organisations, ensuring donor retention and developing stewardship.
The role involves regular travel across the local area, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle will be required.
We are proud to have been at the heart of our local community for over 30 years, but as we must source 80% of the £5 million it costs to run Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, our donors and fundraisers are central to our ability to be able to uphold this level of care. It will be the challenge and reward of this role to continue to engage, nurture, and support the local community in its attempt to do the same for the Hospice and the people of Cumbria it cares for.
We offer some great benefits including:
1. Free, confidential access to our Employee Assistant Programme
2. Life insurance for all staff working regular hours
3. Free, onsite parking
4. Discounted local gym membership
5. Access to discount schemes for high street retailers and more
