ABOUT DIVISION
This position is part of the London Advertising Sales Team, which is tasked with generating ad revenue across the UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. The team collaborates closely with agencies and brands to sell integrated advertising proposals across the BBC portfolio, including TV, digital, audio, and branded content.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for ad sales for the following categories: Government, Travel & Tourism, Finance, Management Consultancies amongst others. Plus managing business from Spain and The Netherlands.
* Engage with agencies and country based sales reps/sales houses to identify new sales opportunities and create joint business plans.
* In partnership with VP, create strategic and operational plans for allocated agencies, clients and countries specifying growth areas, new business opportunities, business development activities and supporting marketing initiatives that are in line with business strategy.
* Drive implementation of the sales plan and update the plan in line with changes in market conditions, new business opportunities and new products/technologies.
* Develop Account Plans for key agencies/clients detailing revenue and relationship objectives and competitive counter-strategies.
* Provide accurate and regular forecasts and business updates to line manager. Identify key players in the market and client/agency organisations.
* Gather market information and intelligence from a variety of sources to identify future growth areas and inform the sales planning process.
* Attend key marketing events to increase the network of contacts, develop relationships and gain insights into potential new business opportunities.
* Manage all aspects of the sales cycle to successfully close sales opportunities.
* Manage and direct the activities of internal teams and resources to deliver campaigns that meet and exceed customer expectations.
* Seek feedback from agencies and clients to assess their satisfaction with BBC Advertising and take action to address any issues identified.
* Contribute to the development and execution of Marketing events to generate sales leads and raise the profile of BBC Advertising.
* Provide input/contributes to the development of functional/departmental strategies.
