About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join our team on a permanent basis.
Swale Borough Council work closely with landlords to secure private rented accommodation for clients. The role will require visits to these properties to inspect and provide support and advice to enable households to sustain their tenancy. This can include tackling rent arrears, housekeeping, tenancy issues and managing anti-social behaviour.
You will also be required to liaise with landlords, agencies, charities and other council departments to resolve repair issues, income queries and any other issues.
This is a busy and challenging role working within a supportive team who strive to make a difference.

About You
You will be expected to have a good knowledge of housing issues and be able to provide advice and assistance to households. You will need to be well organised and able to prioritise and manage your own workload. You will be expected to work as part of a team as well as working independently using your own initiative with good problem-solving skills.
You need to be prepared to, and have experience of, dealing with people faced with very stressful and distressing situations and be able to remain calm and empathise with their situation whilst supporting them. You will need to be able to identify support needs and complete necessary referrals.
Selection Process
