HGV TECHNICIAN WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £42,000 - £45,000pa Negotiable
Hours: Monday to Friday Late Shift 11:00am - 8:00pm
My client, a fleet repair company, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HGV Technician Workshop Supervisor to join their site in Liverpool. This role will be hands-on and productive. My client will consider a good, experienced HGV Technician who is looking to progress into a supervisory role.
Aim of the Role
Key component parts include:
* Maintain and repair vehicles in accordance with Company Policy.
* Supervise the HGV Technician Team.
* Apply professional technical methods and standards.
* Communicate with the Customer and maintenance desk during and after maintenance/repair processes.
* Complete a given workload in an expected timely manner.
* Complete and submit all associated documentation timely.
* Willingness to accept technical training from internal and external sources.
* Respect equipment provided by the company.
* Hold or be prepared to train for relevant licenses to drive or test vehicles and equipment.
* Knowledge of DVSA standards for heavy and light vehicles.
* Observe the company’s documented safe working practices and Risk Assessment.
* Be polite and courteous when dealing with colleagues and customers.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure vehicles are maintained above the minimum standards required by the DVSA.
* Report recurring manufacturer issues to the Manager.
* Supervise the HGV Technicians.
* Assist in coordinating repairs on company assets.
* Ensure vehicles are maintained in line with the service planner.
* Undertake vehicle and equipment inspections, service, and repairs.
* Be organized.
* Hold industry-recognized training qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQs or equivalents).
* Be familiar with modern fault code reader diagnostic systems.
* Have a wide range knowledge of light vehicles to HGV vehicles.
* Ensure all parts are booked out of stock and allocated to the correct vehicle.
* Support a team environment where staff help each other.
* Participate in training and development required for a safe and reliable fleet.
* Promote a safety and environmental culture in line with the company’s policies.
* Have a great attitude to job efficiencies and housekeeping.
* Ensure the workshop and yard areas comply with Health and Safety legislation.
* Adhere to all risk assessments and safe systems of work.
