We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Junior Cook to join one of our clients' kitchen teams in Chipping Norton. If you have a love for cooking and are eager to learn and grow in a kitchen environment, this role is perfect for you. As a Junior Cook, you will support the Head Chef and the kitchen staff in preparing and delivering high-quality meals while ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, peeling, and portioning.
2. Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Chef to prepare a variety of dishes.
3. Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards in terms of taste and presentation.
4. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
5. Assist in stock control, ensuring that ingredients are fresh and appropriately stored.
6. Support in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen for service.
7. Work efficiently to meet deadlines and service times.
8. Participate in training and development to enhance cooking skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
1. Passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques.
2. Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
3. Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior staff.
4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
5. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
6. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
7. Previous experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not essential.
8. Driving Licence.
Schedule:
1. Monday to Friday
2. Weekend availability
3. 9am-5pm
Pay:
1. From GBP12.21-14/h
