Psychology Graduate – SEND Teaching Assistant

£85 to £95 per day (dependent on qualifications and experience)
About the Role
Connex Education is working with a SEND school based in Sheffield who are recruiting for a Psychology Graduates to work as a SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. With the right candidate, this could be a potential temp to perm role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing environment.
* Assisting with learning activities and helping to adapt tasks to meet individual needs.
* Building strong, trusting relationships with students to foster their social, emotional, and educational development.
* Helping manage behaviour positively, using techniques that promote self-esteem and independence.
* Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide consistent support and monitor progress.
* Creating a warm, inclusive, and fun atmosphere where every child feels valued.
You Will Need:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Active listening skills to understand individual pupils’ needs and concerns.
* Empathy and the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with pupils.
* Patience and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
