Part-time Receptionist, 18+ hours over 3-4 days per week, from £12.31 per hour

What's the job?
We are looking for a motivated, friendly and flexible Receptionist, to work from mainly our Trellech Site NP25 4RB but also Briavels site GL15 6TN, joining the team in delivering high quality, compassionate and efficient front desk services. The role also has opportunities in supporting the clinicians with medical administration.
The role requires exceptional customer service skills with a warm, listening, empathetic nature, as well as great organisation and administrative abilities. You’ll be assisting patients in finding the right care, but also all members of the Practice team with queries support and signposting.
It is a bonus if you have medical reception or administration experience, but not essential. However, your customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task is crucial.

General Role
* To deliver high quality telephone and reception services on a daily basis to patients, clinicians and other staff across both Practice Surgeries, as well as our associated District Nurses and Nursing Home.
* Follow and contribute to the development of practice policies and procedures, audits and communication at the Reception interface with patients, clinicians and other staff across both Practice Surgeries
* Demonstrating high standards of efficiency, professionalism and enthusiasm for the service and Practice teams across both sites
General functions
* Opening and closing of Surgery, depending on rota, including logon support for visiting Locum GPs or students
* Welcome patients and visitors, directing initial queries appropriately; make appointments, registration of temporary and permanent patients, change of patient details, handing out of forms and letters, book patients in, direct patient queries to appropriate member(s) of staff
* Answer incoming calls and direct as above
* Receive and action emails from patients, tasks & documents from staff
* Assist the Lead Receptionist and Practice Manager in ensuring cover is in place for both sites for Reception staff absence
* Support clinical and administration teams in managing own/their workload and triaging
* Assist with and minimise potential Reception ‘problems’ that may lead to patient complaints
Skills and Competencies
* Experience in Reception or Customer Care is required
* Excellent communication, both spoken and written
* Well-presented, personable, polite and patient
* IT skills, flexibility across software packages and acumen with INPS Vision desirable
* Awareness and adherence to processes and procedures
* Retain calm under pressure, maintain confidentiality and data protection
* Flexible and adaptable dealing with changing priorities, team support and business demand
* Capacity to support holiday and sickness cover is expected
* Team working qualities across sites and between staff; maintaining a close working relationship with the Practice Manager and Reception team members, so that high standards and mutual respect are promoted between everyone
