Superior Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Southend-on-Sea to provide exceptional care for our complex care client in their home in Shoeburyness (15 minutes from Southend).
Our client
Our client is a 62-year-old female who lives with a spinal cord injury and is paralyzed. She is passionate about gardening, enjoys going out into the community, and appreciates meaningful conversations. The client has a fitted tracheostomy and invasive ventilation.
Your role as a Support Worker would include, but not be limited to, assisting with the client’s day or nighttime routine, supporting with any clinical intervention required throughout the shift, providing personal care, administering medication, and regularly accessing the community during a day shift.
Shift requirements
* Days: 8:00am to 20:00pm.
* Waking Nights: 20:00pm to 8:00am.
* All shifts are 2:1.

Responsibilities
* To closely observe and monitor the client for clinical intervention such as tracheostomy care, deep oral suctioning and cough assist.
* To be friendly, engaging and hold a great conversation with the client around their interests.
* To be an advocate for the client, working in their best interest and in accordance with Superior Healthcare's policies and procedures.
* To assist the client with moving and handling, including the use of equipment such as hoists.
* To show the client dignity and respect when providing personal care to the client.
* To regularly refer to and follow care plans written by the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional person-centred care is provided.
Requirements
* 6 months professional care experience in the UK based in a healthcare setting.
* Previous experience working with complex care clients, including clients with a tracheostomy.
* Someone who is flexible and able to offer availability with short notice including weekend shifts.
