Job Summary
The ability to perform all aspects of the Lineworker job function including but not limited to the day:to:day aspects of maintaining and building overhead and underground electrical facilities. The ability to perform work in enclosed spaces, manholes, and vaults. Responsible various levels of learning, performing, and/or leading other lineworkers, material maintenance as well as, up to and including, aerial and underground work including utility distribution construction tasks. Working with a Live Safe mindset in all tasks; ensuring to mitigate hazards where identified.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Lineworker Helper:
:
Learning and understanding human performance and safety tools and their usage in day:to:day work
:
Driving of different sizes and types of trucks. Operation of various pieces of equipment, including Aerial Bucket, Bread Vans, and Digger Derrick Trucks.
:
Read and understand job prints and sketches with reference to distribution standards.
Lineworker I
:
Proper use and care of all rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
:
Ability to perform confined space and bucket rescue tasks and properly set up and operate aerial baskets and digger derrick trucks.
:
Ability to lift, rig and tie knots to set up, jobsite and material for work in manholes and vaults, identifying materials and understanding distribution construction specifications.
:
Ability to properly cover up secondary lines and perform energized work on secondary voltage lines.
:
Ability to use meters to perform tests and install 3 and 4 wire secondary lines.
:
Ability to identify substation and underground equipment.
Lineworker II
:
Ability to perform underground tasks, including energized primary cover up to 34,500 volts.
:
Ability to understand transformer theories including bank installations, tap settings, and identifying and constructing multiple secondary voltage applications.
:
Ability to learn and perform simple primary voltage switching (up to 34,500 volts) tasks and applications.
:
Ability to learn and perform work including, troubleshooting, splicing, and repair on energized underground secondary cable (120/208) circuits.
:
Ability to learn and identify Network Grids.
:
Ability to learn and perform splicing of primary underground cable.
Lineworker III
:
Ability to perform all tasks included in Helper through Lineworker II
:
Ability to build and maintain underground residential and network grid distribution circuits, including but not limited to, prepare/operate pad mount switchgear, install and troubleshoot URD circuits and switching/tagging URD primary cable.

Ability to learn three phase primary tasks to include safe operation and removal/installation of automatic transfer switches and manual switching schemes.
:
Ability to learn and perform switching of 3 phase distribution circuits in vaults and substations.
:
Ability to learn and perform troubleshooting, repair, and phasing of network protectors (120/208V).
Lineworker Sr
:
Ability to perform all tasks include in Helper through Lineworker III
:
Demonstrate strong Leadership capabilities including indirect crew leadership.
:
Ability to learn and perform advanced primary voltage switching (up to 34,500 volts) tasks and applications.
:
Ability to perform advanced Lineworker tasks including construction of vaults, locate and correct backfeed situations, troubleshoot and repair energized 277/480V network protectors, and automatic transfer switches.

Ability to install communication equipment (Secondary Monitoring) in vaults.
:
Ability to perform complex troubleshooting of underground circuits using VLF, capacitor discharge, TDR, and Arc Reflexional Methods.
