About the Role As Support Staff – SEN Primary, you will work alongside teachers and SEN specialists to provide essential support to students with additional needs. You will be instrumental in creating a positive, structured and nurturing learning environment, helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally. Responsibilities of the SEN Support Staff: Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEN, ensuring tailored learning plans are followed. Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs). Foster a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere. Support children with speech and language difficulties, Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and other learning challenges. Implement sensory strategies and behaviour management techniques to support student well-being. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions. Assist in personal care and mobility needs where required. The successful candidate will: May have previous experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting. A strong understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff and parents. A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs. A relevant Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or SEN Support qualification (Level 2 or above preferred). Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
