Position : Senior Category Manager

Location: Hybrid (On-site in Nottingham 2 days per week)
Salary: £53,755 - £60,504 (+ £3,000 bonus for MCIPS qualified candidates, + £3000 retention bonus after 12 months service (this is payable monthly)
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Senior Category Manager to join the Procurement Team, focusing on the corporate category area.
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are one of the largest teaching Trusts in England and has an award-winning procurement team! The Procurement and Supply Chain Team consists of over 90 team members, which allows the function to provide a first-class service.
As the Senior Category Manager, you will support and lead on several improvement projects across the department, as well as leading a procurement work-plan in addition to taking ownership of the most complex/niche tendering activities across the department.
As the Senior Category Manager, you will have management responsibilities for 4 members of the Category team and will be expected to provide advice and guidance to help them further their careers and become more well-rounded procurement professionals.

Responsibilities:
7. Implement a category management strategy and support the management of key supplier relationships to deliver cost reduction and service improvements
8. Identify projects and develop work plans and cost improvement programmes on an annual basis with regular reviews and updates throughout the year to deliver the agreed CIP targets
9. Lead the negotiation and completion of the most complex/complicated contracts within the category to support the category strategy
10. Deliver a co-ordinated workplan across the Trust, ensuring procurement best practice is fully represented and best value achieved at all levels
11. Providing advice and support to the Divisional Management Teams on service design and provision
12. Produce regular capacity and performance reports to present to the Head/Assistant Director of Procurement
Requirements:
13. Previous management or mentorship experience is essential
14. Proven experience of purchasing within key category areas
15. Proven experience in whole life cycle contract management
16. Strong Excel skills (including producing Pivot tables)
17. Track record of successfully managing high-value and highly complex tenders
18. Excellent knowledge of public procurement regulations
