We help our clients design, develop, deploy and evaluate qualifications and their underpinning assessments. AlphaPlus is working with the Scottish Government to deliver the National Standardised Assessments for Scotland, which comprise the Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA) and their Gaelic Medium counterpart, Measaidhean Coitcheann Nàiseanta airson foghlam tron Ghàidhlig (MCNG). These standardised assessments support the National Improvement Framework (NIF) for Scottish Education, provide information to teachers to support their judgements about students’ progress, and inform actions to improve attainment and wider outcomes for every child in Scotland. AlphaPlus’ National Assessment Programme Manager will be jointly responsible for managing delivery of the national service, planning for maintenance, upgrades and enhancements of functionality or content, and acting as a senior point of contact for external and internal stakeholders, as well as the lead contact point for both the client and sub-contractors. They will be an experienced self-starter with a solid operational and project management background in assessment. Within AlphaPlus, they will be supported by the AlphaPlus directors, work package leads, and the project management office (PMO). Eligible candidates will have: Project management skills, for example PRINCE2, MSP and/or other methods and approaches Master’s degree level or higher in a related area or equivalent experience. Sufficient knowledge of assessment theory, project management and technological assessment implementation to advise client at policy level. Operational understanding of national assessment programmes Successful track record working in UK or overseas education sector in a similar role At least 3 years’ professional experience and demonstrable track record in the design, development and delivery of assessments Contribution to strategic vision, business planning and financial management activities Experience / understanding of national assessment programmes in Scotland would be beneficial. The post is permanent, full-time working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and is Manchester office-based. The company offers hybrid working (two days per week minimum in the office, with three days working at home). A relocation package is available if appropriate. The role will involve national and occasional international travel, potentially including working in customer offices. Normally the role will also involve national travel including very occasional working in customer offices.
