Reporting to the Group CFO, working part-time and alongside our current legal counsel, this exciting new role is responsible for assisting the business with its rapid growth plans on an international scale.
Specific Responsibilities
The following outlines the primary areas of responsibility. Additional responsibilities or functions may be required as necessary to support the business.
* Follow all companies Policies and Procedures including but not limited to Quality, Health and Safety, Environment and Information Security.
* The role is also expected to perform any reasonable requests which are not defined but in the ability of the individual.
* Supervise and oversee legal contracts documentation, encompassing commercial contract templates (both customer and supplier), the creation of customised agreements, and the development of internal process documentation for various functions such as sales, customer due diligence, and enquiries.
* Support sales team in their communications with customers regarding legal aspects, including participation in contract negotiations, tender responses, internal policy and procedure adherence, and addressing related inquiries.
* Support supplier relationships by offering advice and negotiating supplier contracts.
* Provide guidance to business support teams and the management team on legal matters as required addressing issues such as customer contract infringements, complaints, and other legal or compliance disputes and queries.
* Evaluate the impact of new amended laws, regulations, and case law affecting contractual relationships, and provide advice to the pertinent business units.
* Proficiency in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
* Compliance with Data protection / GDPR laws, provide necessary guidance for addressing any ICO complaints/issues.
* Mergers & Acquisitions; first line review of support transactional documents, working closely alongside the Group’s Corporate Development Director and external legal advisers.
* Internal Governance, support on company secretarial matters, providing training as necessary.
* Communicate with and manage external counsel where needed.
* Undertake legal research and advising on changes to commercial law, and regulations, ensuring legal contractual compliance.
* Must have experience of dealing with larger corporate organisations and suppliers.
* Must be able to work independently and make decisions accordingly where necessary.
* Enjoy a fast paced, a high-change environment and don’t rely on structure / hierarchy to get things done.

* In-house legal experience is preferred but not essential.
* You will ideally be a UK qualified solicitor with at least 5+ years post qualification experience.
* A strong understanding of contract law, particularly in the context of sizeable customers.
* Experience in other areas of law – employment, data protection, commercial is preferred but not essential.
* Experience of working in a fast paced environment with senior stakeholders.
* Demonstrable communication skills and commercial acumen/pragmatism
