Job Summary
Our new AC Academy North Warwickshire junior choir has attracted over 40 local children. We are looking for an excellent piano accompanist (Diploma standard) to help bring their performances to life.
Job Description
* Freelance 1.75 hours per week (term-time only); additional hours may become available.
* £50 per hour (the rate of pay includes planning and preparation).
* Dordon, North Warwickshire. Thursdays 4:15pm - 6:00pm.
The successful candidate will accompany in a range of styles/genres including classical, folk, musical theatre, pop and rock. They need to demonstrate excellent sight-reading skills, an ability to harmonise, and be well prepared in advance of each rehearsal/performance.
They will be passionate about music and flexible in their approach, whilst looking to inspire and develop the talents of young singers.
There may be opportunities to work in other areas of Armonico's work, including our Choir Creation scheme, mentoring, and community outreach programme.
Playing piano to Diploma standard is essential.
Job Requirements
* Diploma piano performance level with the ability to improvise, transpose, harmonise, and sight-read at ease.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
* Experience of preparing repertoire to a high standard.
* Experience of working with children in a youth choir setting.
* Sound musical knowledge.
* Ability to travel (travel expenses will be paid according to Armonico Consort's standard travel expenses policy).
