We’re looking for an experienced leader to join our senior leadership team. Based in our Pool depot, and reporting to the South West Operations Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing four Team Managers who are accountable for the Electricity Distribution Network in the West Cornwall area. With talented and operationally focused teams and Team Managers already in place, our focus for the successful candidate is leadership and management experience. You will set direction through developing high performing teams and providing creative and innovative leadership to meet targets and motivate your team to ensure we keep the lights on and maintain consistently high levels of customer service. Main Responsibilities Lead/manage, motivate and develop Team Managers to lead their teams effectively to ensure operational activities are achieved. Set objectives, monitor, and drive performance and be accountable for the delivery of our KPIs included within our scorecard. Co-ordinate the formulation of Capital and Revenue Budgets to monitor and control expenditure of these budgets. Ensure that customers are provided with the highest level of service appropriate to their needs and agreed standards. Ensure that customer complaints are resolved satisfactorily and in a timely way. Ensure that through your Team Managers the Electricity Distribution System is developed, operated, and maintained as efficiently and effectively as possible and in accordance with appropriate legislation, laid down policies and standards. Working with our HR Business Partner promote good employee relations and to facilitate an environment that motivates and encourages the development and engagement of our people. Contribute to the development of strategy, policy, and objectives, and communicate our priorities etc as appropriate. Coach and develop our Team Managers in line with National Grid values to facilitate excellent leadership. Liaise and network with peers and key stakeholders, to lead to successful outcomes for the operational business area. This includes building relationships with internal stakeholders e.g. colleagues across National Grid and NGED, as well as external stakeholders e.g. customers (large and small) at various levels. Complexity and Creativity: Identify and effectively support the resolution of a wide range of problems, which could include technical, personal, organisational, customer related issues and emergencies including storm response. Provide clarity and direction to Team Managers to influence decisions and therefore the performance of our network and business. Working with the Finance Business Partner provide information on the financial performance and operating performance of your depot aligned to KPIs, objectives and financial regulations. Create a strategic vision/plan to improve and maintain high standards of performance including review ways of working as needed to achieve KPIs, targets and objectives. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: The ability to develop or have knowledge of working in a regulated industry. Experience of leading and managing teams through change. Drive high performing teams through setting clear direction and objectives aligned to NGED’s performance contract (strategy & strategic priorities) Motivate and manage others to deliver. Communicate effectively and build relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal/external stakeholders. A degree level education or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
