The Role We’re looking for a data-driven, customer-centric CRM Manager to take our customer and prospect comms strategy to the next level, helping us nurture and retain customers while also driving acquisition and long-term business growth. You’ll own and execute our CRM strategy across both B2C and B2B audiences. This includes designing automated campaigns that enhance customer experience, drive engagement, and increase customer lifetime value. You'll also develop and manage our contact strategy for B2B prospects – employers and intermediaries (accountants) – using targeted CRM initiatives to convert leads into customers. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll have complete ownership of our CRM channels, including email and push communications, while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Data teams. If you love blending data, creativity, and automation to build best-in-class lifecycle marketing programs – we’d love to hear from you What You’ll Be Doing This is a broad range of responsibilities, you are not expected to be experienced in every one, but willing to learn broaden your knowledge: Own and evolve Penfold’s CRM strategy, ensuring our customer and prospect journeys are engaging and personalised – driving key business objectives. Manage and execute email and push notification campaigns, including content creation and deployment. Analyse campaign performance and generate insights that improve our CRM efforts and broader marketing strategy. Optimise customer and prospect segmentation to serve the right message, to the right audience, at the right time, via the right channel. Develop automated lifecycle campaigns that improve customer engagement, activation, retention, and conversion. Build and execute lead nurture programs for our B2B audience, focusing on employers and intermediaries (accountants), ensuring that prospects receive timely, relevant, and value-driven content to move them through the sales funnel. Champion a data-driven approach, leveraging analytics and segmentation to deliver hyper-relevant, timely communications. Implement rigorous A/B testing, ensuring we continually refine our messaging, creative, and delivery strategies to maximise impact. Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Operations teams to deliver an outstanding customer and prospect experience. About You Drive and enthusiasm for FinTech / Tech, our mission at Penfold, and the hard work that comes with building something from nothing into a multi-billion pound business. Humble, low-ego and able to get on with anyone whether they’re within marketing or across our other departments. 2 years CRM experience, ideally in a high-growth environment with a focus on automated lifecycle marketing and lead nurturing. Expertise in email marketing and CRM strategies, with a strong understanding of customer retention and acquisition tactics. Experience working with CRM tools and ESPs (HubSpot, Iterable, Braze, or similar), and data management platforms. Experience in marketing and lead nurturing strategies, particularly within SaaS, FinTech, or similar industries. Up to date on email and CRM best practices, with knowledge of compliance (GDPR, deliverability, etc.) Analytical mindset with a strong understanding of A/B testing, performance tracking, and campaign optimisation. Commercially aware – you should have an understanding of key business concepts, such as Customer Acquisition Cost CAC, and the ability to participate in discussions about business growth and marketing ROI.
