The Quantum Engineering Solutions (QES) division at Keysight Technologies seeks an outstanding experimental quantum physicist to join our team as a Quantum Solution Engineer in our customer success team. QES is responsible for producing world-leading solutions for the challenging and exciting market of quantum technologies, including quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum sensing. As a quantum solution engineer, you will own customer success for the world’s first fully digital quantum control solution (QCS).
Our QCS enables applications ranging from quantum computing R&D to large-scale deployed cloud systems with thousands of qubits. To achieve this, you will engage with key and strategic customers to demonstrate leading proof of principle quantum experiments and applications. You will work with R&D stakeholders to define the technical specifications of the QCS, to enable state-of-the-art quantum use cases.
You will collaborate with our marketing team to create technical content such as code examples and quantum technology specific user guides. For key accounts, you will represent QES with our business development team as the quantum control solution expert and you will be responsible for customer success on our worldwide quantum computing customer basis.
Responsibilities
1. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to tackle complex challenges in quantum computing collaboratively with our customers.
2. Work closely with our quantum SDK and quantum firmware team to refine requirements based on customer feedback and direct experience with Keysight’s quantum computing facilities.
3. Maintain, cultivate, and thrive an external and internal ecosystem around Keysight’s quantum computing facilities.
4. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in experimental quantum computing by actively contributing to ongoing research initiatives.
5. Mentor and provide technical guidance to other junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in development practices.
6. Ability to consistently deliver on deadlines and delight the customer.
7. Ability to work in a collaborative environment and to influence individuals over geographically dispersed teams.
Qualifications
1. PhD degree in physics, engineering, or a related field.
2. Background in either quantum dots or spin qubits.
3. Operational knowledge of experimental instrumentation such as laser systems or phase-coherent, pulse sequencing with AWGs, data acquisition with digitizers, and DC-source biasing.
4. Operational knowledge of vacuum systems and/or cryogenic systems.
5. Proficiency in Python programming.
6. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Excellent organization and coordination skills.
