About the job: We are looking for an Electrician in the Northamptonshire or surrounding area to be a key member of our Engineering team, doing preventative and routine maintenance on existing solar panel systems.
About Ecovision: Ecovision has extensive experience in design, installation, and managing distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios across the UK. We have installed over 5000 systems and currently manage over 19,000 installations across mainland UK (63MWp capacity), primarily on behalf of Portfolio Investors, Councils, and Housing Associations. What you’ll do:
Main Responsibilities:
1. Conduct reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance visits, involving system testing and fault diagnosis relating to the design, installation, and communication (with our monitoring platform) of rooftop domestic Solar PV systems.
2. Perform solar PV fault finding, meter replacements, and inverter replacements.
3. Usage of step ladders and working in loft spaces.
Keeping up to date with best practice and Legislative changes:
1. Support changes to standardised operating protocols in accordance with system design and installed equipment.
Technical skills:
1. Ensure knowledge and approach of all technical aspects are well understood and consistently applied by all engineers.
2. Support the Operations function in technical matters.
Communications and Teamwork:
1. Communicate complex technical information to customers and team members.
2. Build rapport and provide good customer service with customers and team members.
Health and Safety:
1. Ensure personal and site health and safety procedures and protocols are always followed to understand, assess, and mitigate risks effectively, both prior to visits and dynamically.
Other duties:
1. The post holder may be required to undertake other reasonable ad-hoc duties as appropriate and requested by their Line Manager.
What you’ll need:
Skills and Experience:
1. Essential Qualifications:
2. C&G 2330/2360 PART 1&2/2365 level 3 Diploma/NVQ3 or equivalent
3. 18th edition wiring regulations
4. Minimum two years’ experience as a fully qualified electrician
5. 2391/2394/5 Testing & Inspecting (desirable)
Industry Knowledge:
1. Basic installation experience, basic testing experience
2. Solar experience (desirable)
Communication skills:
1. The ability to effectively communicate and convey technical information into understandable examples for customers and team members.
Analytical skills:
1. Attention to detail
Information Technology skills:
1. Strong computer literacy and proficiency in using technology and equipment (e.g., Apple equipment – iPhone, tablet).
Driving skills:
1. This role will be based on the road and therefore the post holder will require a clean driving license and experience driving long distances.
Location: You will be home-based, travelling to Solar PV sites around the UK (within your area and an 80-mile radius). You will be provided a fully expensed company vehicle, all IT equipment, plus opportunities for further required training.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 per annum.
