Key Requirements:
1. A minimum of five years’ experience of working within the field of building surveying, stock investment, maintenance, improvement, feasibility studies.
2. MRICS qualification required.
3. Experience in budget and financial management.
4. A clear understanding of building surveying, maintenance, programming works preparation of drawings, work schedules and project management. High quality communication and negotiation skills.
5. A proven track record of partnership working.
6. Possess a current UK driving licence and provide a suitable vehicle for use at work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage, schedule and carry out detailed site, building and stock condition surveys, to enable the preparation of drawings (CAD), work schedules, specifications, contract and tender documentation and quotations for works. Ensuring that all works are delivered on time, within annualised budgets and to allocated annual spend profiles.
2. Work in full compliance and keep up to date with appropriate legislation, building regulations and planning requirements relevant to your areas of responsibility, particularly in relation to project designs, detailing work specifications and the CDM Regulations.
3. Be able to react to situations on site with respect to structural diagnostics and building pathology, to enable the determination of remedial works and production of detailed work specification.
4. Assist in co-ordinating the preparation of drawings, specifications, tender documentation, contract documentation, quotations, tenders and programmes of work for all contracts.
5. Manage the performance and progress of relevant minor and major works programmes against allocated budgets and undertake corrective action as and when necessary to ensure programme delivery.
6. Be responsible for the supervision of contractor or tradespersons in relation to the above programmes.
7. Produce and present summary progress reports identifying all contract activities, spend against budgets and profiles, customer satisfaction and any corrective actions to relevant progress meetings.
8. Continually assess existing and proposed methods of work and where necessary, develop alternative options, which are cost effective and/or provide improved service delivery.
