We are a small, independent spray shop specializing in high-quality finishing services. With a commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail, we work with a range of materials, primarily MDF, transforming raw materials into beautifully finished products for our clients.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Spray Shop Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with MDF, including preparation, priming, de-nibbing, and applying topcoats. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that our finished products meet our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparation of MDF: Sanding and smoothing raw MDF surfaces to achieve a flawless base for priming and painting.
2. Priming: Applying primer coats with precision, ensuring even coverage for a perfect finish.
3. De-nibbing: Removing any surface imperfections between coats for a smooth, consistent result.
4. Topcoat Application: Expertly spraying final topcoats on MDF and timber windows/doors, ensuring a durable and beautiful finish.
5. Quality Control: Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets our stringent quality standards.
6. Maintenance: Keeping tools, equipment, and the spray shop area clean and organized.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a spray shop or similar environment, working with MDF.
2. Technical Skills: Knowledge of spray finishing techniques, materials, and equipment.
3. Attention to Detail: Ability to deliver high-quality finishes with minimal imperfections.
4. Work Ethic: Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a small team.
5. Health & Safety Awareness: Familiarity with safe working practices in a spray shop environment.
