Project / Contracts Manager - Civil Engineering and Refurbishment Specialist - Southwest
My client is the leading specialist asset maintenance contractor for buildings and structures operating across the UK. Established in 1955, the company has 6 regional offices in the UK and a reputation in the industry for the quality of our service and innovative engineering solutions, underpinned by our commitment to safety and sustainability.
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the company's Contracts Delivery Team as a Project Manager / Contracts Manager.
The company is looking for someone to manage all aspects of significant projects including Commercial, Contractual, Quality, Safety, Stakeholder Relationships, and Programming requirements in accordance with company objectives and procedures.
The works vary considerably and could involve - Structural alterations and repairs, Temporary Works, Cathodic Protection, and much more.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing several Contracts - Financial, Cost Plans, Maximising return etc., Developing relationships with clients, suppliers etc.
They will be afforded a good level of flexibility to maximise their productivity, with the client estimating 1-2 days in the regional office near Bristol, and visiting live/future projects 1-2 days per week, with some hybrid working permitted.
Contracts generally range from £20k - £2m.
The ideal candidate will be located with good access to the M4/M3 and M5 Corridors.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Managing projects to ensure compliance and to achieve financial, safety, quality, and environmental targets.
2. Creating contract plans, safety plans, method statements, risk assessments, and taking responsibility for the safe delivery of projects.
3. Undertaking planning, programming, and resourcing of assigned contracts.
4. Managing relationships through liaising, negotiating, and meeting with clients, consulting engineers, surveyors, sub-contractors, etc.
5. Promoting and encouraging innovation and value.
6. Motivating, coaching, encouraging, supporting, and providing guidance to both staff and operatives.
7. Contributing to our upcoming health and safety mission by ensuring company SHEQ and all other procedures are followed.
8. Supporting and contributing to our sustainability and social value goals.
9. Assisting and promoting our mission of providing a safe and caring workplace.
