Overview
A well-established healthcare facility is seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to join its team. This key role will involve supporting the Manager in the day-to-day operations of the facility while providing leadership to the nursing staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Qualifications
* Active NMC registered nurse licence (essential)
* Proven experience in a nursing leadership role, such as Deputy Manager or similar
* Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and best practices
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both staff and residents
* Ability to multitask, prioritise, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
* Leadership and team management skills
Job Purpose
To assist in the management of the facility, ensuring high standards of care and creating a homely, safe environment that respects the rights of all residents. The Deputy Manager will help develop person-centred care plans, oversee staff training, and monitor operational needs, all while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Principal Responsibilities
* Support the Home Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring a homely and safe environment for all residents
* Ensure the nursing staff provide efficient and high-quality care, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards
* Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of care plans and policies in line with best practices
* Oversee the assessment and delivery of care, ensuring that care plans are followed and reviewed regularly
* Delegate tasks to staff and monitor their performance, offering guidance and support where needed
* Assist with staff training, performance evaluations, and scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times
* Act as a liaison between nursing staff and management, addressing any concerns or issues that arise promptly
* Maintain effective communication systems within the team to ensure continuity of care and operational efficiency
* Ensure safe and accurate administration of medication in line with NMC and home policies
* Participate in audits and help maintain compliance with CQC standards
* Provide on-call support as required
* Assist in managing resources effectively, ensuring that adequate stock levels are maintained
* Participate in meetings, decision-making processes, and strategic planning
Day-to-Day Duties
* Coordinate and oversee nursing shifts, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility
* Conduct regular rounds to monitor care quality and address any issues promptly
* Offer leadership and support to the nursing staff, helping to solve problems and improve care standards
* Collaborate with the Home Manager to address operational needs and challenges
* Contribute to meetings and decision-making processes related to patient care and facility management
