Your role in elevating the East Midlands As Sector Engagement Lead, youll coordinate and manage partnership engagement and relationships with our key growth and employment sectors, ensuring EMCCA's work aligns with their needs. This role will bridge business support, skills, and innovation activities by integrating key sectors into EMCCA's strategic programmes. It involves close collaboration with sector organisations to enhance joint efforts and align skills, innovation, and business support with current and future needs. Working closely with the different Heads of Service, you will build strong relationships with the following sectors: Transport Equipment Manufacturing (Automotive, Rail, Aerospace) Creative & Digital Bio-medical/Healthcare Food & Drink Construction Logistics Visitor Economy (tourism, retail, hospitality) Low Carbon This development work will drive sustainable growth and improved productivity. As such, youll play a crucial role in ensuring EMCCA shapes and supports shaping sector development, innovation, and resilience plans and activities. Key responsibilities include: Building contacts and relationships with sector partners, universities, academics, networks, and businesses that reflect EMCCA sector strengths. Developing effective CRM systems for better sector relationships. Champion of research and analysis to ensure EMCCA understands current and future skills and labour needs of key sectors. Supporting the Head of Business Growth & Innovation in developing and gaining buy-in for activities related to enterprise, finance access, innovation, investment promotion, and international trade, maintaining a cross-sector focus. Engaging key sectors in EMCCA networks, skills development, and careers programmes. Collaborating with Careers Hubs and the National Careers Service to develop and distribute local labour market information for schools, NEET and youth services, and adult careers advice services. Working with key stakeholders to maintain the knowledge of business advisers around all EMCCA-funded offers and other support in the business support ecosystem. Maximising outcomes from EMCCAs capital investments. Your profile: Degree qualified, or with an equivalent level of experience, where youve gained a good understanding of local and national policy on skills, innovation, investment, and economic development, as well as a knowledge of policy drivers in our key sectors. Excellent relationship building skills capable of building close ties with leaders from schools, colleges, training providers, and businesses. Experience of working with business representative bodies and support organisations on joint policy development, project delivery, and campaigns. Experience in data collection and research methodologies to inform policy and service development Strong track record of stakeholder engagement and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to persuade and encourage new ways of working. Proactive and adaptable, able to work independently and prioritise a busy workload. Imaginative and entrepreneurial, turning ideas into focused, deliverable activities in what is a start-up culture. High level of personal drive and integrity, being positive, flexible, versatile, and resilient, focused on achieving success.
