Job Summary
Are you an experienced Contracts Manager with a proven track record of leading and inspiring dynamic teams? Moog Military Aircraft Group is seeking a dedicated Contracts Manager to lead and inspire our Contracts Department at our Wolverhampton site.
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in business capture activities, contract management, and strategic development. The Contracts Manager will perform at various levels of responsibility and accountability within the Military Aircraft Group operating model. This includes managing contracts-related activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the strategic direction of the Wolverhampton site and the broader business division.
Under the guidance of the Director of Contracts, you will manage resources, budgets, and assets to ensure overall contracts performance. Lead and coordinate contracts improvement initiatives and supervise a team of approximately 5 to 10 direct and indirect reports.
Responsibilities Include
1. Team Leadership: Oversee a team responsible for sell-side activities including proposal development, terms and conditions negotiation, contract execution and monitoring, and sales order entry.
2. Expertise and Training: Act as the site's contractual/legal expert. Provide edification, training, and support to the Contracts Department members.
3. Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of UK regulations and a willingness to learn US FAR/DFAR regulations. Ensure the team is up-to-date with the latest regulatory requirements.
4. Strategic Liaison: Serve as the primary contact and strategic advisor for AS9100, MoD, Prime Customer, DCMA, and CAV audits and inquiries.
5. Regulatory Training: Develop and administer regulatory training programs to meet government and other regulatory specifications.
6. Performance and Strategy: Hold complete accountability for the site's contracts performance and strategy implementation. Collaborate closely with site leadership and other teams to drive the business forward.
Qualifications and experience:
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. 10+ years of experience in Contracts Administration on complex aerospace, defense, or military programs.
3. Working knowledge of the Military of Defense (MoD), US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and US Defense Acquisition Regulations (DFARs).
4. Experience with UK and U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
5. This position requires access to United States export-controlled information.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
7. Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
8. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and inspire a shared vision.
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
