We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the school premises, ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment for both students and staff.
Key Duties:
Security and Maintenance:
Responsible for opening and closing the school premises.
Conduct regular security checks to ensure the school is safe and secure.
Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks as needed.
Report any major issues promptly to the relevant authorities.
Cleaning:
Oversee and perform cleaning duties to maintain high standards of hygiene.
Ensure that all areas, including classrooms, offices, and communal spaces, are kept clean and tidy.
Manage waste disposal in accordance with school policies.
Handyman Skills:
Address minor repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently.
Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills to handle day-to-day issues.
Coordinate with external contractors for larger maintenance projects.
Key Holder:
Act as a key holder and be responsible for the security of the premises during non-operational hours.
Respond promptly to any emergency situations, such as alarms or security breaches.
Enhanced DBS:
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience in a similar caretaker or maintenance role.
Basic handyman skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills.
Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
