JOBDESCRIPTION
Job Title: Salaried Doctor
Reports To: Practice Manager(s) and Partners
Job Summary:
The post-holder will manage apersonal list and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary caresetting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered andtemporary patients.
Job Responsibilities:
11. The post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
12. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
13. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
14. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current evidence based on practice disease management protocols
15. Providing counselling and health education
16. Referring patients to specialists and to other care providers as appropriate
17. Recording clear and contemporaneous IT based consultation notes to agreed standards
18. Collecting data for audit purposes and to meet practice targets ( QoF)
19. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
20. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
21. In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
22. Participate in agreed practice development activities.
23. Attend training, practice meetings and events as appropriate.
24. Participate in supervising learners within the practice (GP Trainees and F2)
25. Maintain a continuing professional development.
