Overview
London Borough of Harrow is looking for a tenacious, methodically minded and experienced Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team.
The postholder will be the allocated Social Worker to complete assessments for children in need, including those in need of protection, children looked after, those subject to public care proceedings and, where directed by the Court, children subject to private law proceedings. The Social Worker shall be responsible for the assessment, planning, monitoring and review functions for all allocated children and families. Furthermore, the caseload will consist of a number of children and families, including children in need of support, those in need of protection, and children looked after, requiring a statutory service.
About You
The successful candidate will be:
1. Able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
2. Able to demonstrate a commitment to the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy and the ability to understand and implement the policy in relation to the job responsibilities.
3. Experience of user consultation and participation focusing on the needs of service users and carers.
4. MASH or First Response Team (FRT) experience.
5. The post holder must have a working knowledge of all statutory duties and responsibilities relating to children and families, including:
• Legislation
• Regulations and Standards
• Government Objectives and Initiatives
• National and Common Assessment Framework.
6. Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
7. Registered with Social Work England.
