Tes is supporting the appointment of a PSHCE Teacher to join a House School based in Andover.
Up to £42,000 DOE
Hours: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. 8.30am – 5.00pm
Contract: Permanent, term time only

The House School is the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities. The House School is growing and as they expand their offer, they are seeking to recruit an inspirational, highly motivated, and forward-thinking teacher of Music with the energy and passion to change lives.
About the School
The House School is a successful 38-week residential school, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, for young people, aged 11 – 19, with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, typically, high functioning and/or with associated disorders.
The school currently has 35 students on roll; however, this will increase over the next three years as the school embarks on an exciting period of growth.
They offer a broad and balanced, challenging and relevant curriculum rooted in the National Curriculum, delivered by an experienced and dedicated staff team. Their aim is to fully prepare their students for successful lives beyond the School.
About the role
The school require a qualified Teacher of PSHCE, with experience of teaching across key stages 3 – 5, who has the ability to make a significant contribution to their school. The successful candidate will have the confidence and willingness to work proactively alongside other experienced colleagues to develop PSHCE throughout the school. You will take a creative approach to teaching students, according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the curriculum in a way that maximises their achievement and ability to develop.
Within this role, you will teach students in a fun and engaging way and work with an experienced and knowledgeable support staff, including therapists, to ensure that each student is receiving the support they require.
You will have a flexible, creative and practical approach to learning and be responsible for developing individualised / small group programmes. Class sizes are no more than 7 students, with dedicated TA support, and you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
They currently hold the bronze Rights Respecting Schools Award and are keen to continue their journey toward the gold award.

* Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required

* Knowledge of teaching the National Curriculum
* Understanding ASD and/or additional needs
