What you will do:
1. Oversee the delivery of services for children in care and care leavers, ensuring they receive the right support and care.
2. Commission and manage services for children in the care system, while advocating for their rights and promoting positive outcomes.
3. Lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with senior leadership to ensure effective, child-centred care.
4. Collaborate with external partners to enhance service provision and improve outcomes for children and young people.
5. Provide training for staff on Leaving Care, and ensure that standards of good practice are established and maintained.
6. Assist in planning training and coordination of pathway plans, with a focus on early preparation and target setting for the journey into adulthood.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. A professional qualification in social work (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
2. Extensive experience working in children's services, particularly in corporate parenting, safeguarding, and commissioning services.
3. Strong leadership and management skills, with the proven ability to manage teams and resources effectively.
4. A solid understanding of statutory responsibilities related to looked-after children and care leavers.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with various stakeholders.
6. Experience in service commissioning, contract management, and collaboration with external providers.
