The Utility Land Rights Manager will oversee utility land rights cases, covering a diverse range of land, from urban areas to large rural sites. This role involves collaborating with external strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders to negotiate, approve, and secure utility land rights efficiently and effectively, ensuring that all necessary land rights are in place for construction to proceed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee Utility Land Rights Cases: Manage a diverse mix of utility land rights cases, ensuring that all transactions are completed in line with governance and budget requirements.
* Negotiation & Settlement: Oversee the negotiation of consideration sums and settlements, ensuring that land rights are secured on time for the project.
* Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with external strategic suppliers, utility companies, and internal teams to facilitate the negotiation process.
* Technical Advice: Provide relevant technical guidance to inform early-stage design and construction decisions, helping shape the project’s direction.
Proficiency in IT systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to maintain information across multiple databases, along with a relevant qualification in Surveying or a property-related discipline, or significant work-based experience in this area, is key to the delivery of this role. Understanding of the compulsory purchase process or other government compensation schemes and familiarity with the utility and telecommunications industries will also stand you in good stead.
