Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and ensures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The Mechanical Engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance with established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Aberdeen based.
Responsibilities:
1. Prioritises and supports safety behaviors and safety culture. Complies with and contributes to safety rules and procedures.
2. Manages own time, assessing time inputted versus value added to maximise their effectiveness.
3. Manages internal and external projects from enquiry/conceptualisation through to final close out. Will run multiple projects in parallel.
4. Interacts with customers/appropriate internal departments to establish project scope and deliverables.
5. Ensures appropriate information is communicated to internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure the smooth progression of work.
6. Proactively problem solves to contribute to the correct delivery of work.
7. Ensures all records are evidenced, maintained and stored in accordance with the QMS.
8. Produces detailed work instructions.
9. Designs, implements, and validates new equipment, methods, analysis tools, etc.
10. Conducts hands-on testing activities.
11. Indirectly supervises other staff.
12. Reviews and checks procedures, work instructions, reports, etc.
13. Tracks project value and provides financial progress reports. Ensures correct order cover and evidences invoice amounts to minimise payment problems.
14. Monitors departments and team members to ensure compliance with quality requirements and procedures, supporting audits and finding resolution where required.
